Rebecca Kemp


Rebecca is a member of the Rose of Tralee International Festival management team, where she manages their social media profile and also the Festival's website ( The Festival recently won the prestigious industry gold award for Best Use of Social Media at the Accenture Digital Media Awards, and has also been awarded the Rabo Tweetie Most Popular TV Programme, and Best Social Media Marketing by the Association of Irish Festivals and Events.

A freelance social media manager, Rebecca also provides social media consultation and support to businesses. She has attended conferences as a speaker and presented on social media strategy.

Before working for the Rose of Tralee Festival, Rebecca worked for NTL (cable communications) in the UK, in the broadcast division where she managed the local community channel. She also worked on the early development of their video on demand products and services.

In addition to social media consultation, Rebecca has achieved recognition for her creative writing, and is a published novelist. Her work has featured in several online journals and anthologies, including RTE’s 100 Words 100 Books, the Short Fiction Journal, Brilliant Flash Fiction and In Litro Magazine. She won the augural Kerry’s Eye Short Story Competition, and was the only writer in Ireland to be selected to take part in the 2014 Twitter Fiction Festival with her story told in diminishing Tweets from 140 characters to 1.

Rebecca has a 2:1 degree from Sussex University in American Literature, and an MA in Communications & Technology from Brunel University in London.
